2009 McLeod Summer Playhouse Housing Information

Campus map. http://www.siuc.edu/maps/  You can enter a building and it will search it. McLeod Theater is in the Communications building.

TECHNICIANS: You will be staying in Boomer Hall. For those arriving prior to June 1st, go to the Education and Outreach office in Grinnell Hall, room 106 (open 8-4) and they will check you in. See Picasso and All Shook Up below for further information about the facility.

MID-LIFE: THE CRISIS MUSICAL (equity cast) You will be staying at Southern Hills Apartments in the two bedroom units. Call Ron at 847-275-2184 when you get to town.

PICASSO and ALL SHOOK UP cast: You will be staying at Boomer Hall.

Check-in: You can check in the day before your contract begins (6/7 and 6/21). Go to the Mae Smith building, front desk, and they will issue your keys. It will be open 24/7. 

Parking: You can park your car in lot 106, off of Wall Street. Parking stickers will be paid for by MSP and we'll deal with those on your first contract day. Park your car in lot 106.

Furnishings:  We will provide a microwave and small refrigerator. Each room has two twin beds (linens and matress pad are not included), two dressers, two desks. A virtual tour of the facility can be found at

Food: By law, they're are no kitchen facilities in the dorms. Cooking is limited to microwaves and hotplates (but not the exposed coil type hotplate). There are a number of places to eat on campus, especially in the Student Center. Grocery stores (Kroger, Schnucks) are a short drive from your housing.

Bathroom: Community style bathrooms for up to eight residents. Bathrooms are cleaned daily by the custodial staff. Bring your own towels and bath supplies.

TV: Cable is available at no charge.

Phone: Phone service is available with a charge. But most of you have cell phones.

Internet: There is wireless internet in the commons area. Ethernet connections can be made in rooms for $65. You will get a user ID and a Password. Ask at the Mae Smith desk when you check-in. 

Rules/Restrictions: Drinking is permitted in the dorm if you are 21 or over. Drinking must be in your rooms only with the door closed. Smoking is not permitted in the dorm, and must be outside.

Laundry: Coin operated machines are available in the building.
